The desert sands will come alive once again with the rhythmic strums of world music as Udaipur readies itself to host an array of talented artists at the second edition of the Udaipur World Music Festival. This year the harmonic extravaganza will bring to the stage a selection of diverse cultures and traditions through tunes and notes that will strike the cords in all the right places. Exploring the intricacies of different genres of music, the artists will try to fuse and, at the same time, disperse the powerful energy of sound waves.
The festival will be a three-day line-up featuring 150 artists from over 16 countries. With the guest list spanning through countries like United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Senegal, Canada, Armenia, Turkey, Macedonia, Iran and many more, one is sure to get the flavours of cultural vibrancy at their finest. UWMF was envisioned as a place where societies collide with harmonic manifestations and offer to the traveller a peek into the beauty of diversity and convergence. Through February 10th, 11th and 12th 2017; the world will be brought together through music at Udaipur where every seeker, traveller and lover is welcome to bask in this extra-ordinary experience for free. As an opportunity to introduce the ethnicity of every culture to the people who visit UWMF, the arts and crafts here will offer a sublime reflection of indigenous creativity. The Kalaghar store will join the legion of cultural representatives and present to you an assortment of artistic dhokra jewellery- a craft that encapsulates the heritage of the Indian subcontinent within the deep pressings of brass designs. Come be a part of this phenomenon at Udaipur, where music, art and craft will hold you in an embrace of legacy.
