About our Artisans
We work in Baleswar and Mayurbhanj district in Odisha. The district is home to over 45 tribal communities and is among the 250 most backward district among the 723 districts in India.
100% of our artisans are women from these communities. They are homemakers with low education levels. Apart from being involved in sabai weaving they also help out their families in farming. We provide them technique training in developing new design apart from providing market linkage.
Our wage payments are at par with other organisations working in the same craft space. We have transparent systems in which we make payments directly through bank accounts and within a week of production.
